Super Position

This sculpture was the outcome of an exciting collaboration with Quantum Physicist, Researcher and Phd Student, Siri Berge.

Siri specialises in using scanning tunneling microscopy to capture images of metal and other materials at an atomic scale. These images provided a rich visual jumping off point.

This sculpture is a collage of the lattice-like structure of metala with stylisic impressions of the analysis Siri and her team conduct.

A bit about Ru

Ru Christman is an artist, sculptor and blacksmith, based in Dundee and working in Fife, Scotland.

Ru is drawn to studying natural forms, focussing on exploring the boundries of material and scale to create their intricate, botanically inspired sculptures.

Their work is created through a detailed drawing first approach followed by combination of traditional hand skills such as welding, smithing and fabrication.
